What Is 304 Stainless Steel?

304 stainless steel, also called 18/8, contains about 18% chromium and 8% nickel. That makes it highly resistant to rust and corrosion and safe with acidic Indian foods. Many of our steel essentials - including the Gold Kitchen Knife, the Flour Sieve, the Gold Serving Spoon, the Sauce Drizzle Spoon and our 24-piece gold cutlery - are made from 304-grade stainless steel, as stated on their product pages. A gold PVD finish (physical vapour deposition) bonds a thin, durable gold layer to the steel for a lasting shine.
